Hello September

It's finally September and I cant believe i'm right now in Bangkok.
Thinking back to the days when i keep wishing time will pass faster so i could hurry be here and here i am, time flies. 💭

On a side note, I'm so glad I'm done with my first hotel. I mean i guess i just needed a good break from the work environment there. It's like the people there are really nice but it's like when you see such a work environment, you can't help but yearn for more, for better. I remember myself trying so hard to do my best to help whatever i could that i could myself feeling so overwhelmed and tire out by it. It's like your efforts suddenly seem so small and insignificant and at times, i always wonder if the higher management is aware of all these happening at our workplace. So much to say or rant, but i guess i should pass this phase. Days like this just makes me so glad I chose to stay on afterall, the past week here has been a good one so far (except my second dayoff where it wasn't really my day - fell after walking like what 10 steps from my hotel > phone screen protector cracked and best of all, phone with no service!!) Nonetheless, the other days were good.

It's funny how i thought i would be really homesick like the times when i was interning at Phuket, but this time it feels different. Maybe perhaps i was given a really good accommodation with stable network and so the thought that i could constantly contact with my loved ones made me feel safe. It's like you have this "worry-free" mentality right now when you know you have a roof over your head, food and internet to last for the eight weeks. To add on, the people here have been really nice and i'm so thankful for that. Thai hospitality indeed. But of course, it boils down to individual. However my stay for the past week has kind of opened my eyes to see the operations of this hotel and it just feels so different. The way operations are being run feels like you have something to look forward to at work, especially at the front office. Interacting just a couple of days and i could see myself looking forward to join the rest of the team on my fourth week. Everything just feels so in place for the first time, and deep down in my heart i just can't wait to see and feel this back at my first hotel.

Five more days and it's gonna be exactly six months for me in this organization, still can't believe i came this far. Honestly unsure of what's to come or what's in store for me come Mar 2019. It's like a whole new journey lies ahead and frankly speaking, I have no clue where i'll be by then. Sometimes, i really wonder how one can stay in the same company for so long and i sincerely admire those who stayed in the hospitality line for years or even decades. It's amazing to see their passion for service and for their work. 👍  i really hope to be like them, eventually. :-) That's why i always tell myself this is just the beginning, there's more in life to come. And whatever obstacles i've met along the way are just challenges given to me so that i can be a better person. God placed them there for a reason, because he knows i can and i will overcome it. Just recently thinking back to the support i've had from my family and friends, it's so encouraging and i'm just feeling so grateful for all these love. <3 font="">
I will come back as a better person, someone wiser, more patient, kind at heart and of course, someone who's pumped up to go all out for her dreams. I guess coming here reignite my passion to work in this hospitality industry and i'm glad i made it this far. :')

For now, shall just enjoy my time and also maximise my learning for the next 7 weeks.
Let's do this, Adel! SUSU 😊

Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart

Holy grail, can't believe its been more than a year and here I am...decided that it's finally the night that I will pretty much like to update my blog. Yes what a year it has been, wouldn't have expected that my life will be like this a year back. Despite saying this, me is contented. Sitting right here alone in an A/C room hearing to 2NE1 music after a good bath and dinner, spending some me-time (while e hubby go for an impromtu night to JB with his bros). Heh tgif! Loving such Friday night <3  Been learning to appreciate these rare moments of me-time, to make use of it in a way that will make me feel good after. Recently, I thought to myself that 'hey its time to start brushing up the self-growth part of me as well as feeding my own mind and soul' cuz lately that was the part of me that I felt neglected - I guess I do sometimes pin a lot of expectations on myself when it comes to my growth at my work - what do i learn from it (aka professional growth) that I so...

Courage over fear

What a crazy past three weeks it has been - rollarcoaster of emotions for me and I can't believe I survived it T.T From having my dad admitted to hospital in fear of an injury that was discovered to receiving a job opportunity and having to make a career decision in such a short span of time (while i'm on leave) to taking that brave step to inform my boss and ro on my intent to go for the interview to driving without JJ for the first time(s). A whirlpool of emotions, it feels overwhelming to be honest.  And I guess a lot of the emotions were more on the negative side - feeling fearful, anxious of the unknown, terrified maybe. And on the other hand, sense of relief and happiness when my dad was finally discharged because the doctors deem that it wasn't life-threathening and that he just had to attend further body check ups thereafter to receiving the full support and care from my boss and ro. I literally couldn't control my tears falling the moment my boss shared the pie...

Hello October!

A year and six months since the first CB started and look at where we are right now...still feeling pretty surreal that we're still in the midst of battling this pandemic or per say endemic to be?  I guess many of us wouldn't have imagined us to be battling this Covid-19 till today, and I'm just thankful that my loved ones are all safe and healthy <3  It's def been a difficult year for many (mostly in bad way i will say, minus the good part that we do get a decent amount of time to spend at home with your family as most people do wfh since last Apr 2020). But then again, I guess you can say I miss the liveliness of the neighbourhood, I miss the carefree times when we can indeed hang out as a group without worries (now I don't think I can forsee being maskless anytime soon even in the next year but I only wish for the easing of group gatherings because I sincerely miss family/relatives time and opportunities to hang out with your friends!) Covid-19 made me treasur...
