HOMESICK

it's November alreadyyy.
Yes time flies and its already like the second last month till 2014 ends.
I really wonder how time just flew by every second and minute and day and week until today, at times it really puzzles me.
Because i can still remember the day when we just started school on sem 1 and we were all grabbing our FYPs topic wondering whether the chinatown one or sg river one is better. Its like the memories seem so clear but yet when you think about it, it's been like 7 months ago.
I've really been thinking hard what have i done for this year.
Like something worth acknowledging and stuff, like something memorable...and i guess it's about the fact of me trying and doing my very best. This year has been so different?
Its like i'm starting anew, everything.
It's like me alone trying to be that girl standing strong and living my life to the fullest.
Things have changed and i've accepted it. i knew that sometimes no matter how hard you try, things can never go back to where it started off. Sometimes, it's all about letting go and moving on. I can say for sure that right now, i've moved on and i'm thankful for that.
After coming for internship overseas, i realised that distance does make a difference, being apart from home allows you to leave your troubles at home and relax your mind. Its like i'm coming to a foreign land carefree of worries and it just feels so good.
I'm able to think better and coming here really helped me make my decisions.
If its so hard and tiring to maintain this friendship, then why bother?
Why bother if the other party is just waiting for you to put in the effort?
I always thought it will be alright, but now i guess i'm just gonna treat you like how before we always were before it all happened.
And thinking about it, i just heaved a sign of relief.
:)

So yes coming back to todayyy, well it's been a really hectic and busy day.
I honestly wasn't prepared for any of this today but yeah the moment i started work.
That sense of urgency kicked in and i knew i had to be alert and be on my feet at all times.
We were seriously lack of manpower and there were only two staff on duty including me this morning from like 9am - 1pm (Phuket time) and omg there was so much to do. Its like i had to organise the bills, do room inspections and check-ins for guest. Its like i had to do things quick because anytime, the front desk may call and i gotta check-in the guest.
I kept running back to the counter as well because my colleague had to do check-out and meet guest etc. BUSY BUSY BUSY. YES. IT REALLY FELT LIKE DEATH. HAHAHA.
I was so exhausted by the time dinner came and to be honest, i was so thankful everything's over in that morning till afternoon. :D
But you know its funny because i felt good at the end of today's shift because i accomplished many things and work was fulfilling.
It's just ironic because at times when its too boring, we get complacent and when it's too busy, we were wishing things werent be that bad. Oh well, i guess this's work and life as well.

Btw, been feeling a tinge homesick lately.
I have no idea why but i guess its because its been close to two months since i last saw my family. We skyped weekly but still, that feeling of not being able to see them physically still made me yearn to see them.
Adding on the fact that jesmine's mum came over on friday, omggggg seeing her really reminded me of my mummy so much. I literally hugged her and i was so excited and happy to see her here!!! Its like it feels so nice and heartwarming to see someone familiar in Phuket and the fact that she gave off the vibe of my mum.
When she brought out the things to give us, i really wanted to cry so badly at that moment. Its like if she was my mother, i will just throw my arms around her and hug her so tightly and thank her like there's no tomorrow.
So yeah its just a mere two weeks till i see my family, can't w8. Miss them so much.
Looking forward to heading back to sg for that five days too.
Homesick much.
But tomorrow's gonna be a real good day i hope!!

Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart

Holy grail, can't believe its been more than a year and here I am...decided that it's finally the night that I will pretty much like to update my blog. Yes what a year it has been, wouldn't have expected that my life will be like this a year back. Despite saying this, me is contented. Sitting right here alone in an A/C room hearing to 2NE1 music after a good bath and dinner, spending some me-time (while e hubby go for an impromtu night to JB with his bros). Heh tgif! Loving such Friday night <3  Been learning to appreciate these rare moments of me-time, to make use of it in a way that will make me feel good after. Recently, I thought to myself that 'hey its time to start brushing up the self-growth part of me as well as feeding my own mind and soul' cuz lately that was the part of me that I felt neglected - I guess I do sometimes pin a lot of expectations on myself when it comes to my growth at my work - what do i learn from it (aka professional growth) that I so...

Courage over fear

What a crazy past three weeks it has been - rollarcoaster of emotions for me and I can't believe I survived it T.T From having my dad admitted to hospital in fear of an injury that was discovered to receiving a job opportunity and having to make a career decision in such a short span of time (while i'm on leave) to taking that brave step to inform my boss and ro on my intent to go for the interview to driving without JJ for the first time(s). A whirlpool of emotions, it feels overwhelming to be honest.  And I guess a lot of the emotions were more on the negative side - feeling fearful, anxious of the unknown, terrified maybe. And on the other hand, sense of relief and happiness when my dad was finally discharged because the doctors deem that it wasn't life-threathening and that he just had to attend further body check ups thereafter to receiving the full support and care from my boss and ro. I literally couldn't control my tears falling the moment my boss shared the pie...

Hello October!

A year and six months since the first CB started and look at where we are right now...still feeling pretty surreal that we're still in the midst of battling this pandemic or per say endemic to be?  I guess many of us wouldn't have imagined us to be battling this Covid-19 till today, and I'm just thankful that my loved ones are all safe and healthy <3  It's def been a difficult year for many (mostly in bad way i will say, minus the good part that we do get a decent amount of time to spend at home with your family as most people do wfh since last Apr 2020). But then again, I guess you can say I miss the liveliness of the neighbourhood, I miss the carefree times when we can indeed hang out as a group without worries (now I don't think I can forsee being maskless anytime soon even in the next year but I only wish for the easing of group gatherings because I sincerely miss family/relatives time and opportunities to hang out with your friends!) Covid-19 made me treasur...
